"The education mission of JazzFest is probably its deepest and most meaningful aspect."

- Margot Copeland

Growing up with an appreciation for jazz (first concert-Duke Ellington) and a family dedicated to community service and education, Margot James Copeland directed her corporate career path toward “servant leadership.”

As the former Executive Vice President of Corporate Philanthropy and Civic Engagement for KeyBank, Copeland was the chair and CEO of the KeyBank Foundation. She led the company’s philanthropic investments in education, neighborhood prosperity, workforce development and community service. It was under her leadership that KeyBank, already a supporter of Tri-C JazzFest, became a presenting sponsor, citing the Festival’s role in developing community engagement and jazz education.

Copeland has received many distinguished awards and honors exemplifying her service and commitment to underserved communities. And she still loves jazz.
